The Workshop

800 Years of Culture and Innovation

On October 22 and 23, 2024, the University of Napoli Federico II will present its research and innovation excellences to the Academic and Business communities of New York and the East Coast of the United States.

The Federico II is one of the largest universities in Italy and Europe, with almost 80,000 students, 3,000 professors, and 5,000 Ph.D. students and post-docs. This year, we celebrate 800 years since our foundation as the first State University in the world, ordered by Federico II of Svevia, Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire, on June 5, 1224.

With 26 Departments, 12 of which have been recently selected by the Italian Ministry for University and Research as “Departments of Excellence”, Federico II plays a major role in the Italian research and innovation ecosystem, with strong ties to international and national Industry leaders such as Apple, CISCO, Accenture, Leonardo, Boeing, Hitachi Rail, Stellantis, Novartis, and Merck.

The event will take place at the Cornell Tech Campus on Roosevelt Island, New York, and will be organized into two days. On October 22, we will present our educational offer at the postgraduate level and showcase our excellences in Life Sciences, Technology, and Humanities. On October 23, we will focus on technology transfer initiatives, collaboration with major US enterprises, and our startups.
